Would love to win the gift certificate!! My hubby and I need a date night maybe even before the baby is born!! LoL!!!

  2. I absolutely love chili’s! It’s my husband’s favorite too! And the ring in the toilet makes me laugh because we’re buying a new house and my husband’s grandparents are buying us a new toilet because of a nasty looking ring in it. 🙂 yay for randomness!

  3. Heather says:

Yum! Love chilli’s. Someday my luck is going to kick in, and I’m going to start winning contests. ;0) Yay for inspiration. I looove The Light of the Lover’s Moon

  7. Karen says:

That is awesome! I guess feet aren’t something prostitutes are used to rubbing. Did I just say that?!!! Hahaha! Jean sounds great! I love Light of the Lover’s Moon! That’s one of my favorites! You have pretty much spoiled me to every other author! Thank you! Love ya!

  8. Whitney C. says:

Their chicken tortilla soup-YUMMY! Who can resist Chili’s!?

  9. Jenny G. says:

Coming home one night from church in the fall at dusk my sister and I all of the sudden became surrounded by tons of bats. They were pouring out of the old mill across the street. I have never seen that many bats before (in real life). It was like we were in a black cloud of bats. It was nuts and a little creepy.

  10. I would love to be able to take my husband to Chili’s for his birthday this month… ooo my mouth is watering right now!

  15. Tara says:

I love Chili’s but I haven’t been in a long time because we don’t have a Chili’s in my city. I’ve been saying for years that we need one. Maybe one day someone will listen to me and build one.

  16. Lisa Hanson says:

Great story! I love it. My grandparents could tell the best stories. Lucky for your friend she has a journal of some of her grandfathers to treasure. I love Chili’s… their shrimp tacos are to die for. Thanks so much for the contest.

  18. Brynette McKinney says:

Loved The Light of the Lover’s Moon. I only wish it were longer. I loved the part about the diamonds in the ceiling for stars. I can just imagine how amazing that would look with the light sparkling off of them.

  19. Carol L says:

Your friend Jean sounds like a gem. From Florist to the Army 🙂 I’m sure the foot massage will be in her memory a long time lol lol But the rats in the attic did me in ,”shudders”I have such an intense phobia about rodents. But you were right that her mistake was to your benefit because it gave you your inspiration. 🙂
Thank you so very much for the win. 🙂 I’m thrilled. Now I’m sitting here thinking of Chili’s lol

I love Chili’s warm lava cake. MMMMM!! I hope I win and I am excited to read the Whispered Kiss again.

  25. Tressa says:

I definitely agree about bats instead of rats. Bats are okay and I would laugh if I got scarred by one, but rats? Yuck! The foot massage incident cracked me up! How somewhat mortifying! No wonder!

  26. Amy Vongsawad says:

    Mmmmmmmmm…. Chips and salsa!!!!

  27. Oh we LOVE Chili’s!!! Their chips and salsa make my mouth water…. I also wanted to say that I so enjoy reading your books, Marcia! I have tried to find others (since I’ve read all of yours before) that are somewhat good (and clean!) but no luck… So, despite the fact that my husband just chuckles and shakes his head at me, I pick one of your books each week that I haven’t read in a while and re-read it. It amazes me (I guess it shouldn’t) how much I still thoroughly LOVE your books! Thank you again and again for the gift of your writing 🙂

  28. Marcia says:

Chili’s is our absolute favorite restaurant! There’s not one where I live which totally bums me out but probably saves me a lot of money. 🙂 We go eat at Chili’s any time we’re near one. It’s the best!

  29. Laura says:

I have to agree with you…Chili’s chips and salsa are the best! They make my mouth water just thinking about them!

  30. Teya Peck says:

What a fun friend! I love those stories, I hope there are more to come. I’d love to try out Chili’s, yes I know it’s sad. I’ve seen the restaurant in Idaho Falls but I’ve never been, I’m deprived. Date night after having a baby, well that would be nice!
Keep those stories coming that was a great laugh and I needed that. I’m usually the one everyone laughs at when I telll what has happened to me. I can never understand cause I don’t think I’m funny, but apparently true stories are the funniest. Your story just proved it to me. Thanks.

  31. Stacey says:

Ahhhhh! How funny! There must have been some freaky “foot”massages going on there! Heehee! Sounds like a great friend you have there, and so fun to hear your inspirations for stories. I love that book so much! And Chili’s, I love their chips and salsa and their southwestern egg rolls….MMMMMM! Great post as usual, thanks for the laugh!

  39. Sue says:

Chili’s sounds great! My sweetheart & I need an excuse to leave the kids for a night!

  40. Chris Bails says:

I had a bat in my house once. I did not know what to do so I called 911 and asked if they could call animal control and come and get. The cops ended up showing up and killed the bat for me with a tennis racket. Funniest thing to see a cop and another cop trying to kill a bat with a tennis racket.
Would love to win the Chili’s gift card. Love their food. Thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win. Loved the story and love seeing everyones comments.

  41. aimee evans says:

Just finishing up sweet cherry ray…loving it!

  42. Heather Rae says:

Awesome stories! Light of the Lover’s Moon was one of the first of your books that I ever read and I loved it! Thanks to my best friend Tammy for sharing it with me! Friends are the best! And Chili’s would be an excellent date with the boyfriend! He loves that place! 🙂

  43. Kirsten says:

Well, I guess I’m one of the last to enter but that doesn’t mean the worst, right?! Isn’t it something like, “last is best?!” Anyway, I LOVED Light of the Lover’s Moon because it was so different from the rest! I love the little mystery as to why the house was haunted! So fun! I think that’s why The Frangrance of Her Name is one of my fav’s too!

One of the first times I ate at Chili’s was just after it opened in Idaho Falls. (We’re always last in line to get good restaurants in this area! Um, ya, we just barely got a Chick Filet, doesn’t that say something?!) Well, it just so happened that a client of my husband’s worked there. He gave us his discount off our bill which ended up being about 50%. Well, he was such a great waiter we tipped him the difference of what it would have been at full price. We LOVED it there! We’ve been back several times since except this last year since my husband had to switch jobs and times are tough! The chips and salsa AND queso are to die for! YUM!

  44. Annalisa Thaler says:

I totally laughed out loud at this post! Hooray for “doing” lunch 🙂

Whispered Kiss is my favorite book. I can’t wait till I finish moving so I can see if I have this one. I really hope not because I LOVE the new cover! YUMMY!!

  46. Laura K. says:

I love having friends that always have a great story to tell, good sense of humor, and keep you laughing the whole time you are with them! I’ll take my favorite friend to Chilies! Chips and salsa is my favorite! If you check in with the Foursquare app on an iphone, you get free chips and salsa!!!
